“It takes a village to raise a child”

an African proverb that means a community of people is needed to provide a safe and healthy environment for children to grow up.

Agape Enrichment

A Home Away From Home

Agape Enrichment was founded by a homeschooling mom with a deep passion for teaching children, especially those with special needs, about social-emotional learning (SEL), effective communication, and critical thinking skills. After navigating the challenges of raising a differently-abled child, she recognized the lack of support and community for families like hers. Motivated by her own experiences, she created a program to offer children not only a safe space but also the essential tools they need to thrive. This program is designed to build a community where children, particularly those with diverse abilities, can learn, grow, and flourish together.

As a mom who understands the challenges of raising a differently-abled child, she is committed to helping other families who might feel isolated, lost, or overwhelmed. Agape Enrichment is a small, intimate learning pod that prioritizes creating an environment where children can build emotional intelligence, communicate effectively, and develop strong critical thinking skills. She sees the importance of SEL and believes that by teaching these life skills, children are better prepared to navigate the world with confidence, empathy, and resilience.

The program is designed to feel like a "home away from home," offering a nurturing and structured environment that fosters growth, safety, and connection. With a maximum of three children at a time, she is able to provide individualized care, ensuring that each child’s unique needs are met with compassion and attention.

What We Offer:

  • Focus on Social-Emotional Learning (SEL): The program emphasizes the importance of SEL, teaching children how to recognize and regulate their emotions, develop positive relationships, and solve problems effectively.

  • Effective Communication and Critical Thinking: A key part of the curriculum is dedicated to teaching children how to communicate clearly and think critically. Through activities, discussions, and problem-solving exercises, children learn to express themselves, listen actively, and make thoughtful decisions.

  • Community Building: Children develop a sense of belonging through activities that encourage teamwork and friendship. By building this supportive community, they learn to appreciate their peers' differences and work together toward common goals.

  • Specialized Focus on Differently-Abled Children: With a deep understanding of the challenges differently-abled children face, the program provides personalized support to help them thrive in all areas of their development.

  • Exciting Weekly Outings and Activities: To foster exploration and excitement, children go on 3-4 field trips each week. These outings include visits to the library, dance fitness classes, and horseback riding lessons, providing opportunities for hands-on learning and personal growth.

  • Meals Provided: In line with the founder’s vision of supporting families, all meals (breakfast, lunch, and snacks) are provided, allowing parents to focus on their child's growth while knowing their nutritional needs are met.

    • All meals (breakfast, lunch, and snacks)

    • Weekly activities and outings (library trips, dance fitness, horseback riding classes)

    • Insurance coverage for the program

  • Field Trips: These are paid for as they come up, and parents are notified in advance of any additional costs.

At Agape Enrichment, we believe in nurturing not just academic growth but emotional and social development as well. Our program provides a safe, supportive, and personalized environment where children can build the skills they need to succeed in life. Whether it's through learning about emotions, communicating more effectively, or thinking critically, Agape Enrichment is a place where every child is empowered to reach their fullest potential.

In Georgia, as homeschooling parents are responsible for their children’s education, it is our aim to help.

SEL

Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) is a vital educational approach that fosters essential life skills such as self-awareness, empathy, and effective communication. By integrating SEL into the curriculum, we empower children to navigate their emotions, build positive relationships, and make responsible decisions, ultimately preparing them for success both in and out of the classroom.

Play

Play-Based Learning is an engaging educational method that harnesses the natural curiosity and creativity of children. Through hands-on activities and imaginative play, children explore concepts, solve problems, and develop critical thinking skills. This approach not only makes learning enjoyable but also promotes cognitive, social, and emotional development, laying a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

Shinrin-Yoku

Shinrin-yoku, or "forest bathing," is a practice that involves immersing oneself in nature to enhance well-being. This mindful experience has been shown to reduce stress, lower blood pressure, and improve mood, making it a powerful tool for mental and physical health. By fostering a deeper connection with nature, shinrin-yoku promotes relaxation and rejuvenation, allowing individuals to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life and find tranquility in the natural world.
